This is our review of Fred Olsen’s Drinks Package. We recently sailed on Fred Olsen’s Bolette for just two nights, sailing from Southampton to Liverpool. This was our first Fred Olsen cruise.

How much is the package? 

Fred Olsen’s Drinks Package is available to purchase before you sail from only £24.99 per person, per night or £35 per person, per night on cruises of five nights or less.

You can also purchase once on board, but the cost is £34.95 per person (sailings of six nights or more), or £45 per person (five night sailings).

It is not currently possible to purchase a drinks package on board for sailings of one to four nights. 

You can also pre-purchase a Bookmark Cafe card for £20 which entitles you to seven hot drinks and a small bag of chocolate truffles (worth £6)

What is included? 

The drinks package includes selected white, red, rosé, sparkling and non-alcoholic wines by the glass, selected house beers, house spirits and soft drinks. It also includes the cocktail/mocktail of the day. 

What is not included? 

It does not include bottled water, or speciality coffee or tea served at the Bookmark Cafe or Oriental Tea Room. However, do you get tea, coffee and water served with meals in all dining venues, as well as self-service options at the buffet. 

Our Review

We choose not to purchase a drinks package on our recent sailing, as we thought it seemed rather limited for the drinks we enjoy such as coffees, cocktails and bottled water.

We purchased our drinks on board as we usually would and spent a similar amount as we would have done by purchasing the package, but we were able to choose from wider selection of items. 

So would we purchase a package in the future? 

Yes, probably.

At £24.99 per day (for longer cruises) it is excellent value for money, and you would easily spend this on wine/beer/spirits which cost roughly £6 per drink.
