Here are the Top 5 Things to Do in Miami, including the colourful charm of perfect if you’re planning a short stay like we did before, between or after a cruise.
1. Stroll Along Ocean Drive

No trip to Miami is complete without experiencing Ocean Drive. Lined with pastel Art Deco buildings, palm trees, cafés, and classic cars, this iconic strip captures the essence of South Beach. Go for a morning walk to soak in the architecture or visit in the evening when the neon lights and energy really come alive.
2. Relax at South Beach
South Beach offers the quintessential Miami experience, with soft white sand, turquoise water, and buzzing beach culture. Whether you want to sunbathe, swim, people-watch, or simply stroll along the shoreline, it’s the perfect spot to unwind for a few hours.

3. Wander Through Española Way

Tucked between Washington and Pennsylvania Avenues, Española Way feels like stepping into a Mediterranean village. With its Spanish-style architecture, fairy lights, boutique shops, and alfresco dining, it’s an ideal place for a relaxed dinner or evening drinks. The atmosphere here is intimate and charming, especially at sunset.
We enjoyed a fantastic Brunch here at Craft, and returned later in the evening to fully experience the atmosphere! We highly recommend an evening visit if you have time.
4. Explore the Wynwood Walls
For something a little different, head to Wynwood to see some of the world’s most famous street art. Wynwood Walls is an open-air museum showcasing large-scale murals by international artists. The surrounding neighbourhood is packed with galleries, breweries, and trendy cafés.

5. Shop & Dine at Lincoln RoaD

This pedestrian-friendly promenade is perfect for shopping, dining, and people-watching. From high-street brands to independent boutiques and rooftop bars, Lincoln Road offers a lively but laid-back atmosphere — ideal for a casual afternoon or early evening out.
If you only have a day or two in Miami (like during a pre- or post-cruise stay), these spots are all relatively close together and easy to explore without needing a car making them perfect for maximising limited time.
Top Tip: IF you enjoy a bit of cruise ship spotting like us, Visit South Pointe Park
If you love watching cruise ships (or are heading off on one yourself), South Pointe Park is a fantastic spot. Located at the southernmost tip of Miami Beach, the park offers panoramic views of the channel where cruise ships pass as they depart and return to PortMiami. It’s especially exciting in the late afternoon when multiple ships sail out one after another.

Beyond ship spotting, the park features walking trails, green spaces, a pier, and beautiful skyline views back toward downtown Miami. It’s a peaceful contrast to the buzz of South Beach and well worth the short walk or bike ride.
